Kirobo the Talking Astronaut Robot

Do you ever feel like you are talking to a robot in outer space? Me neither, but just in case you have, meet Kirobo, the robot astronaut with voice recognition capabilities.

Kirobo, a joint project with Robo Garage and Toyota Motor Corporation, will launched into space on August 4th and head for the International Space Station (ISS). From there Kirobo will await the arrival of Japanese Commander Wakata and welcome him to the ISS in November or December. Kirobo will take part in the first conversation between a human and a robot in space. The talking robot astronaut is not set to arrive back on Earth until December 2014.
